Outreach policy

Who writes to you, and why.

Citation building means writing to editors. This is how we do it, and what you can ask of us if you receive a message from outreach@citationresearch.com.

01 The sender

One address, written by a person.

  • All client outreach is sent from outreach@citationresearch.com. We do not use lookalike domains, aliases or anonymous senders.
  • Every message is written by a researcher on our team who has read the page they are writing about. We do not send automated sequences.

02 What we send

Something worth adding to your page.

We write when we have something an editor can check and use: a current price, a product fact, data from a study, an expert to quote, or a correction to a line that has gone out of date.

  • We do not offer payment for editorial placement. If a page sells sponsored placements, we treat them as advertising and say so.
  • We do not ask for a link in exchange for anything. Editors decide what to add, and whether to link.

03 Your rights

What you can ask of us.

  • Who the message was for. Write to us and we will tell you which client, if any, a message was sent on behalf of.
  • To stop. Reply “no thanks” or write to the address above, and we will not contact that address again, for any client.
  • What we hold about you. We keep the editorial contact details published on your site or byline, and a record of our messages. Ask, and we will send it to you or delete it.
